Flooring Epoxy Floor Resin Floor

Environmental sustainability now ranks as one of the top motives for customer and corporate decision-making at all levels, including building and the workplace. Companies across the spectrum, from healthcare to industrial, residential new build and retail are all looking at environmental accreditation from organisations such as BRE during construction or refurbishment to validate their green credentials. And when it comes to flooring provision, Sika Flooring has provided a holistic system that ensures enviro-credentials are impeccable and completely sustainable.

Sika Flooriong BREEAM rating

In 2015 Sika ComfortFloor® systems, Sikafloor® PS23 and PS24, became the first resin flooring systems to achieve a manufacturer-specific BRE Green Guide Rating – attaining an A+ the highest rating available and suitable for all BREEAM rated buildings. Sika is still the only resin flooring manufacturer with these credentials.

BREEAM is the world's foremost environmental assessment system for buildings, with over a million buildings registered worldwide. It measures performance, set against established benchmarks, to evaluate a building’s specification, design and construction. It includes energy and water use, the internal environment (health and well-being), pollution, transport, materials, waste, ecology and management processes.

Increasingly companies are seeking to enhance their environmental creditability and are seeking BREEAM assessment as an added benefit for potential tenants. Specifying completely green-compliant flooring is often difficult in a complex project, which is why the Sika ComfortFloor® A+ rated system provides a total solution in a hassle-free installation. It is also an ideal application for commercial and public buildings such as schools, museums, shopping malls and healthcare facilities.

As part of a comprehensive evaluation process, a BRE representative visited Sika’s two manufacturing sites in the Netherlands and Germany to verify detailed assessments and data analysis. BRE attributed Sika ComfortFloor® with the highest possible Green Guide rating of A+, a first for the resin flooring industry. Sika ComfortFloor doesn’t emit any harmful gasses during installation and is fully recyclable at the end of the building’s life.

As more and more designers and specifiers are demanding flooring with the highest Green Guide ratings, the rating for Sika ComfortFloor® helps design teams achieve the highest BREEAM score possible for all project types, minimising the environmental impact of any building. Sika ComfortFloor® is also available on BRE’s GreenBookLive.com, a free online database designed to help specifiers and end users identify products and services that can help to reduce their environmental impacts, proving once again that it is the singular choice in enviro-builds.
