Sika® AER 5

Sika® AER 5 is a liquid air entraining concrete admixture which is formulated from modified naturally occurring and synthetic surfactants.

It has been specially formulated to perform with concretes containing Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA)

It meets the requirements of BS EN 934-2

  • Sika® AER 5 promotes the distribution of microscopic air bubbles throughout the cement matrix.
  • Applications that require high resistance to freeze/thawing cycles
  • Concrete that will be exposed to tidal conditions, splash zones and de icing salts

Sika® Ferrogard 901

Sika® FerroGard®-901S is a liquid concrete admixture based on Sika® FerroGard® Technology for use in reinforced concrete and mortar. It acts as a corrosion inhibitor for the steel reinforcement. By using Sika® FerroGard®-901S, the life expectancy and durability will be substantially increased.

USES

Sika® FerroGard®-901S is designed for reinforced concrete particularly at risk of corrosion. It specifically provides protection from chloride induced corrosion.

Typical uses are in:

  • Concrete roads
  • Bridges
  • Tunnels
  • Retaining walls
  • Industrial plants
  • Multi-storey car parks

CHARACTERISTICS & ADVANTAGES

By using Sika® FerroGard®-901S both the anodic and cathodic reactions of the electrochemical corrosion process are reduced. The product forms a film on the steel surface which delays the onset of corrosion and also reduces the rate of corrosion.

Sika® FerroGard®-901S is a combination of organic corrosion inhibitors.

The following advantages can be achieved using Sika® FerroGard®-901S

  • Corrosion protection for embedded reinforcing steel, especially from chloride attack
  • Protection from the destructive influences of reinforcement corrosion
  • No negative influences on the properties of both the fresh and the hardened concrete

Sika® FerroGard®-901S is neutral to hydrogen embrittlement of prestressed steel i.e. it neither enhances nor limits hydrogen embrittlement of prestressing steel

Sika® Control 40

Sika® Control 40 is aliquidshrinkage reducing admixture used to produce high performance concrete with greatly reduced drying shrinkage. It meets the requirements of BS8443.

USES

Sika® Control 40 has been specifically formulated for use in all concrete application where there is a requirement for reduced shrinkage such as high performance flooring, precast, bridge decks, marine structures and watertight construction. Sika® Control 40 is usually used in combination with a superplasticiser from the Sika®ViscoCrete range.

EMSAC® 500 S is an aqueous suspension of Elkem Microsilica®

The suspension has a solids content of 50% by weight. The product is easy to handle and pump.
