A project involving the use of Sika’s concrete repair and total corrosion management system has been recognised in a highly-prized industry awards.

This year’s RICS Awards, the country’s premier property and construction event, has shortlisted the Wilmcote House retrofit project in both its Design Through Innovation, and Regeneration categories for the south-east region. The awards showcase inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.

The regeneration of Wilmcote House, an 11-storey development, addressed resident issues of fuel poverty by reducing home heating demand and consumption by 90%. Sika Monotop®, a high-performance concrete repair and protection range, and Sika Galvashield® XPT, an innovative anode system, were used in the restoration, designed by ECD Architects.

Nic Collins, Area Manager at Sika Refurbishment, said: “We’re delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious industry award. Congratulations and thank-you to all those who helped us achieve the shortlisting. It’s a great accolade.”

Category winners will be announced at the RICS south-east region awards night, which is being held on Wednesday, May 9th at the Kassam Stadium, Oxford.
