A visionary plan emerged to revitalise Battersea Power Station and its surroundings, creating a vibrant mixed-use destination. It was one of the largest and most ambitious urban redevelopment projects in Europe, aiming to foster a thriving neighbourhood for living, working, and socialising while preserving the power station's architectural heritage.

In order to achieve this modern masterpiece, ingenuity and innovation were combined with the world’s most advanced specialists and construction methods. To become the reborn icon of London, the basement structure had to be revolutionised – providing unwavering foundations for the entire complex to be redeveloped was the pivotal first step.

In order to achieve this, Sika worked closely with expert contractors to excavate the substructure and a waterproofed concrete basement was poured using 30,000 cubic metres of concrete.
