Sikasil® S50

A mid modulus, acetoxy curing silicone sealant

Sikasil® S50 is a mid modulus, acetoxy curing silicone sealant that contains a powerful anti-fungal compound to prevent mould and fungal growth in the sealant in areas of high humidity. It gives improved adhesion and flexibility when compared to standard high modulus sanitary grades.

  • The mid modulus nature of the formulation gives improved adhesion and flexibility when compared to standard high modulus sanitary grades.
  • Conforms to ISO 11600 F/G20LM.
  • UKCA and CE Marked under EN15651 for façade, glazing and sanitary application. Also certified for use in cold climates.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry and dust free. All loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic should be removed before application. Glass and aluminium should be cleaned with a proprietary solvent cleaner prior to application for optimum adhesion. Some surfaces may require priming - a small area should be tested first.

 


Sikasil® S50 does not require a primer on most common surfaces, although adhesion tests are recommended prior to full scale application.
