Specially formulated for the plumbing professional, Sika^® Plumbers Gold is an exceptional type of sealant and adhesive based on STP polymer technology which offers outstanding adhesion to sanitary, bathroom, wetroom, kitchen and plumbing materials such as hard plastics, acrylics, fiberglass, ceramics, glass, marble, granite, aluminum, mirrors, metals etc. Sika^® Plumbers Gold can be applied to wet surfaces, will even work underwater, and contains Mould Shield^®, proven to protect against black mould on the sealant for 5 years.

Excellent primerless adhesion to most common bathroom substrates including metals, plastics such as polyester, perspex, glass, concrete, plaster, plasterboard, wood, enamel, painted surfaces, etc.

Usage

Sealing and bonding in almost every plumbing application imaginable. The following are just some examples.

Sealing soil and vent pipes.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

AS AN ADHESIVE: All surfaces to be bonded must be sound and clean. Cut the tip of the cartridge, apply nozzle and apply to back of one surface only. Place item into position and secure with good, even pressure and with a slight twist action. For heavy items, provide temporary support until adhesive has dried.

AS A SEALANT: Cut the tip of the cartridge, apply the nozzle and cut to a size slightly larger than the gap to be sealed. Best results will be obtained by keeping an even pressure on the trigger and keeping the gun at a constant angle to the surface being sealed. To ensure a proper bond, always smooth the sealant down with a spatula or piece of wood wetted with water. An improved joint appearance can be achieved by placing masking tape to both sides of the joint, removing within 5 minutes of application.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Uncured material can be removed by wiping with Sika® Wonder Wipes or a dampened cloth with white spirit. Cured material can be carefully removed by mechanical means.
