Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid

Rapid setting self levelling compound.

Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid is a 1-part, cementitious, polymer-modified, fast setting, smoothing and levelling compound for uneven rigid internal floors and ideal for applications where same day covering is required. Suitable for use with many flooring finishes such as carpets, vinyl, wood block flooring, ceramic tiles and laminate flooring.

Usage

Can be laid over most common substrates:
  • Concrete.
  • Cementitious screeds (not anhydrite).
  • Quarry tiles, terrazzo and ceramic tiles.
  • Other rigid subfloors.

Storage Conditions

Material should be stored under cover, off the ground and in dry conditions (between +5 °C and +35 °C). Use of this product after the end of the declared storage period may increase the risk of allergic reaction.

NOTE: Values are approximate, thickness and temperature may affect properties. When overcoating Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid always ensure the moisture content has achieved the required value for the coating product, as the waiting time will vary with the application thickness and ambient humidity (refer to the product data sheet of the over/ top coat product).

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

  • Concrete/screed should be at least 28 days old.
  • The surface must be dry, clean, structurally sound and possess an effective damp proof membrane.
  • The surface should be free from residual adhesives, oil, grease, wax, loose flaky paint, dust, laitance etc. that could reduce adhesion.
  • Mix Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid with water as directed and apply to the primed sub floor.
  • Always add Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid to water, not the other way around.
  • Ensure floor temperature is ≥5 °C.
  • Switch off underfloor heating at least 48 hours before, and for 48 hours after, application.
 

MIXING

  • Mix Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid with clean water only.
  • Slowly add powder to water. 16 kg powder will require 2.6 to 2.8 litres of water.
  • Mix in a suitable clean container using a mechanical mixer with a spiral mixing paddle at medium speed until fully mixed and a smooth consistency achieved.
  • If the product starts to stiffen or set, DO NOT try to remix or add extra water.
  • Working time: 5-10 minutes approx. after mixing at +20 °C.

APPLICATION

  • Sikafloor®-132 Level Rapid can be applied from a maximum thickness of 10 mm down to 2 mm thickness.
  • On large projects, it is advisable to work in teams of 2 to ensure applications to existing wet edges can be maintained.
  • Pour the mixed product onto the primed floor and spread evenly with a steel trowel.
  • Immediately add further quantities of mixed product to give the desired thickness.
  • Trowel marks should flow out of the product to leave a smooth finish.
  • If required use a spiked roller, within working time, to provide a more uniform surface appearance.

CURING TREATMENT

Eliminate any through-draughts or strong sunlight which can cause moisture loss.

 

CLEANING OF TOOLS

All tools and equipment should be cleaned immediately with water before levelling compound hardens.
