Water resisting, retarding and plasticising admixture.

SikaMix 3 in 1 is a water resisting plasticiser and retarder for improving renders and screeds. It also acts as an inhibitor for efflorescence.

Usage

  • For exterior renders and screeds.
  • As a water resisting liquid admixture for sand and cement renders and screeds.
  • As an aid to prevent water “bleed” from the fresh mortar.
  • As a water reducer to inhibit passage of salts for external or internal rendering and screeding.
  • As a mortar improver for pebble dashing or roughcast finishes.

Is SikaMix 3 in 1 suitable for below-ground or tanking applications?

It will resist water penetration, but it is not a replacement for a DPC and will not resist permanent hydrostatic pressure. For tanking or waterproofing below-ground, it should be used in conjunction with a proper damp proof membrane.

Will it affect the working time of my mix?

Yes. As a retarder, it helps retain workability for longer, giving more time to apply and finish renders or screeds before they stiffen.

Can I mix SikaMix 3 in 1 with other additives?

No. Do not mix SikaMix 3 in 1 with other admixtures in the same gauging water. Overdosing or overmixing can cause excessive air entrainment.

How much should I add to my mix?

The recommended dosage is 250–500 mL per 25 kg of cement. Always premix with gauging water before adding to the mortar - never add directly to dry materials.

Does SikaMix 3 in 1 make mortar waterproof?

It significantly improves resistance to water penetration by lowering porosity and preventing water bleed. However, the final surface is not water-repellent - for a fully water-repellent finish, overcoat with a sealer such as Sika® Water Sealer.
