Moisture curing grout for block paving and narrow paving joints

Sika® Block Paving Fix is a fast and effective moisture curing jointing compound designed to deliver a durable low-maintenance finish. Formulated for all types of block paving and narrow joints less than 5 mm - ideally joints should be be 3-4 mm.

Shelf Life

12 months from date of manufacture when stored in unopened containers in accordance with storage instructions.

Storage Conditions

Store unopened original sealed containers in dry warehouse conditions (+5 ˚C to +25 ˚C). Protect from sunlight and frost, and keep off the ground. Protect packaging from punctures or piercings.

APPLICATION

It is recommended to carry out a small trial in an inconspicuous area or on off-cuts of paving prior to application. Do not apply if temperature drops below  +5 °C within drying period, or if rain is imminent. Work in small manageable sections and avoid spreading the compound over large areas. Sweep the compound into the joints with a brush, making sure each joint is completely filled. If rain is expected prior to hardening, the surface must be protected to ensure a smooth finish. Important: Remove any excess material on the surface of the pavers with a brush immediately, as any hardened residue left on the paver surface will be difficult to remove once set. 

 

Then thoroughly soak the joints to activate the compound with a hose pipe set to spray or a watering can fitted with a rose. Do not use a pressure washer. Ensure all the joints are fully saturated. Rinse any excess material from the surface of the pavers before it starts to cure.

The finished surface is safe to walk upon immediately after activation but ideally should be left to dry. Drying typically takes 1–2 days, while full curing may take up to 28 days, depending on the temperature and weather conditions. Leave a minimum of 28 days before pressure washing the surface (the distance between the nozzle and jointing must be at least 10 cm).

CLEANING

Clean tools immediately after use with warm soapy water.
