Resin based block paving seal and joint stabiliser

Sika® Block Paving Sealer is a clear solvent based acrylic coating designed to bind jointing sand and form a durable seal over block paving and other mineral paver/flags. It penetrates deeply into pavers and jointing sand and then dries by solvent evaporation.

24 months from date of manufacture in original unopened containers.

Storage Conditions

Store in cool, dry conditions between + 5 and + 25 °C. PROTECT FROM FROST AND SOURCES OF IGNITION. Storage outside these parameters will dramatically reduce shelf life.

Application steps

APPLICATION

NOTE: DO NOT APPLY BELOW +5 ˚C or or above +35 °C. Apply Sika® Block Paving Sealer using a brush, roller, or foam neoprene squeegee from an appropriate container or tray. DO NOT POUR THE PRODUCT DIRECTLY ONTO THE SURFACE. Work the sealer thoroughly into all joints to ensure maximum penetration. DO NOT LEAVE SURPLUS MATERIAL ON THE SURFACE. Ensure an even and thorough coverage, especially on textured flags/pavers where “ponding” of the product must be avoided. An uneven coating will give a blotchy/white appearance to areas where excess product has been allowed to settle and dry. These areas will look worse in wet conditions. Two coats are recommended allowing 3-4 hours between coats. The treated surface can be reopened to foot or vehicle traffic after approximately 12–24 hours.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with white spirit or Sika® Wonder Wipes. Once cured, any product residue can be removed using xylene.

Can I use Sika® Block Paving Sealer on new paving?

Yes, but you should wait at least 3 months after installation before applying. This allows natural salts within the paving to leach out, helping to prevent efflorescence or white marks from developing beneath the sealer.

Is Sika® Block Paving Sealer stain-resistant?

Yes, the sealer is made with high-quality acrylic materials. Because of this, it protects surfaces from common water-based stains and also from oil stains, such as the dark spots you often see on driveways from cars.

When should I reapply Sika® Block Paving Sealer?

For ongoing protection, reapply every few years or whenever you notice sand loosening or the water no longer ‘beading’ on the surface. Regular maintenance will ensure the long-term stability and appearance of the block paving.

How does Sika® Block Paving Sealer work?

It penetrates deeply into pavers and jointing sand, forming a tough, weather-resistant seal. This locks the sand in place, helps to prevent weed growth, reduces dirt build-up, and helps to protect from oil spillages and water damage.

Does Sika® Block Paving Sealer enhance the appearance of my paving?

Yes, the two-coat application helps to revive old weathered, and faded block and gives an attractive satin appearance. Please note some surfaces may darken slightly after treatment, so always test a smallinconspicuous area to check the desired appearance before full application.
