Cromar® 3B Bonding Felt

Glass fibre based, modified bitumen membrane.

Typically used in traditional pour-and-roll roofing membrane applications, this waterproofing membrane features a strong glass fibre base coated with oxidised bitumen and finished with sand on both sides.

Usage

Intended for use in built-up roofing as an underlay or cap sheet. Using a traditional fibre based carrier, the membrane offers excellent application characteristics and is suitable in either repair applications or as part of built-up roofing.

Storage Conditions

Do not drag rolls across rough surfaces, always lift. Rolls should be stored upright on a dry surface. During colder periods it is recommended that rolls are stored above +10 °C for 24 hours prior to use. During storage, exposure to to direct sunlight is to be avoided. Do not use in temperatures below +5 °C.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Preparation: Ensure the roof surface is sound, clean, and dry. Remove any existing old roof felt and check the roof structure for adquacy and strength.

Application: It can be used as an underlay or intermediate layer within a built-up felt roofing system. 

Edge Treatment: For roof edges, use triangular fillet of timber and a higher fascia board with a felt lip to prevent rainwater from going over the edge. 

Finishing Touches: Install any verge edge and edging to a vertical wall and flashing as needed. Ensure all edges are properly treated to prevent water intrusion.
