Eaves protection strip.

A high performance bituminous eaves support layer designed to protect roof underlays at the eaves, prevent sagging into gutters, and improve long term waterproofing performance.

  • High strength polyester carrier for improved durability and resistance to deformation.
  • Coated both sides with modified bitumen, providing robust waterproofing performance.
  • Fine mineral surface finish on the upper face offers UV protection.
  • Sand faced underside allows easier bonding and installation.
  • High tear resistance.

Usage

  • Installed at the eaves to prevent roofing underlay sagging into gutters, helping avoid ponding and premature deterioration.
  • Used to support membranes at eaves level, maintaining correct drainage paths and improving long term system performance.
  • Suitable for areas where a reinforced bitumen membrane build up is required.

Storage Conditions

Do not drag rolls across rough surfaces; always lift. Rolls should be stored upright on a dry surface. During colder periods it is recommended that rolls are stored in a temperature above + 10 °C for 24 hours prior to use. During storage exposure to direct sunlight is to be avoided. Do not use in temperatures below + 5 °C.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Roll out the strip along the movement joint centre line before fixing.
  • Tack with large head clout nails OR bond the strip on one side only to secure in place.
  • Ensure the strip is laid flat and correctly aligned, avoiding twists or bridging.
  • Do not install below +5 °C, as the material becomes less flexible and may crack or fail to bond properly.
  • Do not drag rolls across rough surfaces - lift to avoid damaging the membrane prior to application.
  • Ensure installation surface is dry, clean, and free of debris to guarantee proper adhesion or mechanical fixing.
  • After fixing, check that the strip fully supports the roof underlay at the eaves to prevent sagging into gutters.
