Cromar® Abutment Soaker

Continuous glass reinforced polyester (GRP) dry soaker.

Designed to provide a weatherproof, concealed drainage channel where a pitched roof abuts vertical walls, such as chimneys, parapet walls, or party walls. It acts as a secret gutter, safely collecting and directing rainwater down the roof slope while remaining hidden beneath tiles or slates, offering a durable, lead-free alternative to traditional lead soakers.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Roof underlay is turned up the abutting wall (approx. 100 mm).
  • Battens are stopped short of the wall to allow water discharge.
  • Soaker is fixed to battens at regular centres.
  • Tiles or slates are bedded onto the sanded strip.
  • Finished with a flashing over the upstand.
