Cromar® Acrypol Flexiglass Resin Top Coat

A flexible overlay topcoat

A high quality dark grey liquid topcoat based on isophthalic unsaturated polyester resin that is specifically designed to be used as part of the Acrypol Flexiglass system.

  • High flexibility to accommodate thermal and structural movement.
  • Thixotropic formulation for controlled application.
  • Rapid cure with effective air-release and excellent film levelling.
  • Watertight within approximately 40 minutes under suitable conditions.

Usage

  • Topcoat resin within the Acrypol Flexiglass® GRP roofing system.
  • External flat roof waterproofing and refurbishment.
  • Suitable for application over a wide range of substrates when correctly primed.
The Acrypol Flexiglass® GRP roofing system system is certified as BRoof (T4) for use on cement-particle board in accordance with the procedures given in the standard EN 13501-5:2016.

Shelf Life

4 - 6 months.

Storage Conditions

Store away from any direct sunlight in the original, factory sealed airtight containers. Avoid storing outdoors. Store below +20 ⁰C but freezing conditions must be avoided. The shelf life & properties of the Cromar® Acrypol Flexiglass Resin Top Coat can be adversely affected by incorrect storage conditions. Only open
containers immediately before use & close airtight after use.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Bandage Joints

  • Add required amount of catalyst paste to the resin depending on temperature and quantity needed.
  • Stir catalyst paste in thoroughly.
  • Bandange joints using the Acrypol Flexiglass Matting if required.
  • Apply 500 g (350 ml)/ m2 over reinforcement using a roller then consolidate using a bubble buster roller.

Resin Coat / Matting

  • Add required amount of catalyst paste to the resin depending on temperature and quantity needed.
  • Stir catalyst paste in thoroughly.
  • Apply 500 g (350 ml)/ m2 to primed (Arcypol Flexiglass Primer) surface using a roller.
  • Apply Acrypol Flexiglass Matting reinforcement over wet resin then consolidate using a bubble buster roller.
  • Apply 500 g (350 ml)/ m2 to primed (Arcypol Flexiglass Primer) surface using a roller as encapsulation layer.
  • Leave the Cromar® Acrypol Flexiglass Resin Top Coat to set.

Final Resin Top Coat

  • Add required amount of catalyst paste to the resin depending on temperature and quantity needed.
  • Stir catalyst paste in thoroughly.
  • Apply 700 g (500 ml)/ m2 as a topcoat to the surface using a roller as a final top coat layer.
  • Leave final resin top coat to set.
