High quality GRP (Glass Reinforced Polyester) bonding strips designed for use in slated or tiled pitched roofs.

Cromar® DF Bonding Strips create a weatherproof junction between changes in direction or material, such as where two roof surfaces meet or where a bonding gutter is required.

Usage

  • Creates a weatherproof gutter / bonding channel between adjoining roof surfaces.
  • Used in slated or tiled pitched roofs to meet BS 5534:2014+A2:2018 installation requirements.
  • Suitable for bonding where the roof direction changes, or where different covering materials meet.
  • Provides a secure, durable interface in dry fix applications without mortar.

Storage Conditions

The product must be stored properly in undamaged packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures between + 5 °C and + 30 °C

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Install the bonding strip centrally along the junction line where two slated or tiled roof surfaces meet, forming the required weatherproof gutter channel.

  • Ensure the strip is positioned beneath the slated or tiled covering, in accordance with BS 5534:2014+A2:2018 roofing requirements for Dry Fix systems.

  • Lay the strip so it provides a continuous watertight junction, directing water safely toward the eaves or valley area.
     

  • Trim the GRP strip to length as required; the strips come in 3 m lengths, making them easy to handle and adjust onsite.
     

  • Ensure the strip sits flat with no buckling or distortion, maintaining a consistent bonding gutter width.
     

  • Position roof tiles or slates so they overlap correctly onto the bonding strip, maintaining proper weathering laps and drainage.
     

  • Fix adjacent roof coverings, ensuring the bonding strip remains unobstructed for water flow.
