Cromar® Jointing Bandage

Glass Fibre Jointing Bandage.

The Cromar® Jointing Bandage is used to tape joints and seams on liquid roof system applications. The strands of the glassfibre are held together by an emulsion binder to form a mat.

Usage

  • Reinforcement of joints and laps in liquid roofing systems before full lamination.
  • Strengthening stress points such as around roof penetrations, trims, upstands, and edges.
  • Crack bridging on roofs, gutters, flashings, and general waterproofing applications.
  • Localised patch repairs on damaged areas prior to overcoating.
  • Bridging gaps between dissimilar materials (e.g., metal to bitumen, GRP to concrete).
  • Detailing work where additional layer strength is required to prevent resin shrinkage or surface cracking.

Storage Conditions

  • Store dry, away from moisture and contamination.
  • Keep in a cool, shaded environment, ideally +5 °C to +25 °C.
  • Protect from UV exposure, which can weaken glass fibre binders over time.
  • Keep the roll wrapped to avoid fraying and dust accumulation.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Ensure substrate is clean, dry, and sound before installation.
  • Cut Cromar® Jointing Bandage to size using scissors or a sharp blade.
  • Apply the first coat of compatible resin or coating to the surface at the required coverage rate.
  • Embed the bandage directly into the wet resin while still tacky.
  • Smooth out to eliminate creases, folds, or trapped air pockets.
  • Overlap bandage edges by at least 50 mm for continuity of reinforcement.
  • Apply a second coat of resin/coating immediately to fully encapsulate the scrim.
  • Allow to cure fully before applying any additional layers or topcoats.
  • Protect from rain, frost, and contamination during curing.
