Cromar® PROGRP Resin

A pre-promoted, filled, high viscosity thixotropic polyester resin.

The PRO GRP Roofing Resin is a vital component with the PRO GRP Roofing System.
It’s designed for cold application as part of a Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) flat roof system, delivering low styrene emissions and exceptional fibre wetting performance.

Usage

As a base resin layer for the PRO GRP liquid roof system, it is specifically engineered for flat roof applications. It is a fully integrated seamless system where all the necessary components are designed to work together. The PRO GRP system is certified as BRoof (T4) for use on OSB in accordance with the procedures given in the standard EN 13501-5:2016.

Provided the recommended storage conditions are met - 6 months.

Storage Conditions

The product must be stored closed and in a cool, dry place and protected from sunlight.
In unopened original containers the product can be processed for up to 6 months if properly stored up to +20 °C.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please refer to the PROGRP liquid roofing system guidance for details on application, including equipment, coverage and installation instructions.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Installation is recommended on to new OSB T&G3 Board.

The substrate should be clean and dry, and free from moisture during application.

APPLICATION

Firstly, install the correct accompanying trims (further information can be found in our trim guide).

Apply the pre-catalysed PRO GRP Resin along the trim/deck joints - overlapping both the trim and the deck to form a sealed layer.

Bandage any joints; where the trims meet the roof deck, 100 mm of 450 g PRO GRP bandage should be applied. Unroll the PRO GRP bandage onto the resin-covered areas.

Impregnate the bandage with a further coat of PRO GRP Resin, and apply light pressure with a roller until the bandage areas are coated with PRO GRP Resin.

 

Roll out the PROGRP Fibreglass matting over the roof deck; to achieve the correct ratio of PRO GRP Resin to fibreglass matting approximately 1/3 of Resin needs to be applied to the deck and 2/3 to be applied on top of the fibreglass matting.

When laminating the main areas of the roof with the PRO GRP Resin, never mix more than 10 litres at a time (roof size dependent) This will ensure that you do not risk the basecoat Resin 'going off' in the mixing vessel and becoming unusable.

To ensure the Resin is evenly distributed over the fibreglass matting we recommend using the Bubble Buster roller to smooth out bubbles and/or raised edges of matting.
