Cromar® RubberCoat Liquid Rubber

A single-component, liquid applied waterproofing coating.

Cromar® RubberCoat Liquid Rubber combines high quality bitumen with various polymers that forms a high-performance elastomeric waterproof membrane.
Containing no solvents, Cromar® RubberCoat Liquid Rubber is non-flammable, and the coating will not damage polyurethane or polystyrene insulation materials. A variety of different reinforcing fabrics can be embedded into the membrane to produce a high strength, superior waterproofing layer.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

RubberCoat is generally applied using a roller, paint brush or hydraulic piston sprayer.

Ambient temperatures should not be less than +10 ºC, and should not exceed +35 ºC during application and for a continuous period of at least 24 hours after application. Avoid hot, direct sunlight. Do not apply over coal tar, avoid solvents and solvent type adhesives.

Work material well into the surface, paying close attention to:

  • Joints
  • Cracks
  • Corners
  • Penetrations

Do not apply one thick coat. Apply multiple thinner coats, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next. This prevents:

  • Skinning over uncured material
  • Cracking
  • Trapped moisture blistering

Detailing & Reinforcement (Recommended)

For high-risk areas (joints, cracks, transitions):

  • Apply Cromar® RubberCoat Liquid Rubber
  • Embed reinforcing fabric while wet
  • Apply additional layer of Cromar® RubberCoat Liquid Rubber over the fabric

This significantly improves long-term durability.

 

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Surface must be clean and dry, stable and free from spalling, efflorescence, dust, dirt, oils, surface flaking, poorly bonded or glossy paint, sealers, salts and other contaminates which may affect adhesion and product performance.


New concrete: must be allowed a minimum of 30 days cure time prior to application of RubberCoat.
New masonary surfaces: should be allowed to cure a minimum of 48 hours prior to application. Exterior surfaces should be power washed using at least 1500 psi to clear any surface contaminates.
For interior concrete surfaces: scrub with a TSP (trisodium phosphate).
For wood floor surfaces: Vacuum thoroughly and wipe clean.
