SikaSeal® Construction Silicone +

For general construction, PVCu frames and glazing

SikaSeal® Construction Silicone + is a low-modulus, fast-curing acetoxy silicone sealant offering excellent flexibility and durability.  Its fungal resistant formulation ensures resistance to black mould growth in areas exposed to high humidity, making it ideal for both interior and exterior use.  Forming a weather tight, waterproof seal with minimal dirt pickup, it accommodates ±20 % joint movement and bonds strongly to a wide range of substrates, including PVCu, brick, glass, aluminium, plastics and timber.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry and dust free. All loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic joints, should be removed before application. Glass, metal and aluminium should be cleaned with a proprietary solvent cleaner prior to application for optimum adhesion. Priming is generally not required, although we always advise testing small areas prior to use.

Are there any application limitations with SikaSeal Construction Silicone+?

While SikaSeal Construction Silicone+ can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, cement based substrates and soft metals, such as lead, iron, or brass should be avoided. 

How flexible is SikaSeal® Construction Silicone+?

It accommodates ±20% joint movement, maintaining elasticity and a durable seal in dynamic applications such as expansion joints, windows, and door frames. 

What surfaces can SikaSeal® Construction Silicone+ be applied to?

Can SikaSeal® Construction Silicone+ be used around glazing?

Absolutely. It’s ideal for glass-to-glass and glass-to-aluminium weather sealing, as well as cap glazing and remedial glazing, providing a strong, weather-tight bond.
