SikaSeal® Construction Silicone Ultra

For construction expansion joints & perimeter pointing

SikaSeal® Construction Silicone Ultra is a low-modulus, neutral-cure sealant ensuring long-lasting flexibility and durability. It provides excellent adhesion to most common porous and non-porous substrates without the need for priming. Ideal for both interior and exterior applications, it is particularly suited to construction expansion joints and perimeter sealing around all types of door and window frames. This sealant forms a weather-tight seal with low dirt pickup, accommodates up to ±25 % joint movement and bonds effectively to timber, brick, stone, PVCu, concrete and metal.

Usage

  • Expansion joints to stone, brick, concrete and composite panels.
  • Perimeter pointing around all types of window and door frames.
  • Sealing and as an adhesive onto PVCu, plastic trims and components.
  • Bedding insulated glass units in accordance with relevant clauses of BS8000 Part 7.
  • Construction and dilation joints where stress does not occur until fully cured.
 
  • Weather sealing and joint sealing to pre-formed panels.
  • Sealing soft metals such as lead, copper and zinc.
  • General glazing sealing and draughtproofing, including repair work over existing sealant.
  • Glass to glass and glass to aluminium sealing.
  • Parapet and roof weather sealing applications.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

The surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contaminants. Priming is generally not required, although we always advise testing small areas prior to use.

Yes, SikaSeal® Construction Silicone Ultra can be used for glass-to-glass and glass-to-aluminium sealing, as well as bedding insulated glass units in accordance with BS8000 Part 7.
