SikaSeal® Construction Silicone

For general waterproofing, weatherproofing and gap sealing

SikaSeal® Construction Silicone is a versatile, acetoxy-curing sealant that adheres to smooth, non-porous surfaces.  The fungal resistant formulation ensures resistance to black mould growth in areas exposed to high humidity, making it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms and other sanitary environments.  This low-modulus sealant offers excellent adhesion to glass, ceramics, timber, aluminium, and laminates, and is suitable for a wide range of interior and exterior applications.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

Reference should be made to the recommended joint ratios. If necessary reduce joint depth using Expanding Foam, or a joint backer rod. Furthermore, ensure that the joint design only permits adhesion to two surfaces, as three sided adhesion will impair flexibility.

 

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Uncured sealant - Sika® Wonder Wipes or white spirit

Yes, SikaSeal® Construction Silicone provides a movement capability of ±12.5 %, meaning it will remain permanently flexible once cured.

Absolutely! SikaSeal® Construction Silicone contains an anti-fungal formula to resist black mould growth in areas of high humidity.
