Multi-purpose glazing compound for wood and metal frames

EVERBUILD® 101 Linseed Oil Putty is specially formulated using only the best grade linseed oil, for glazing single glass into metal, softwood and hardwood window frames.

Shelf Life

Up to 6 months when stored according to manufacturers instructions.

Storage Conditions

Store at moderate temperatures. Product will stiffen at low temperatures.

Overpaint when skin has formed, between 7 and 28 days after glazing.

Skin forms after approximately 2 - 4 days outdoors, dependent on ambient temperature and humidity.
Consumption

Yield

For putty facing, coverage will be between 3 and 5 metres per kg depending on rebate dimensions and frame type.
Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other contamination.

PRIMING

All timber frames must be sealed either with an oil based primer or with two coats of timber sealer prior to glazing.

Painted steel frames may be glazed without any further preparation. Galvanised frames must be passivated or allowed to weather naturally prior to glazing. Check that suitable primers (Calcium plumbate, zinc chromate) have hardened sufficiently by gently wiping with white spirits.
