We are delighted to announce that we have won in two categories of the annual Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA) awards.

SPRA Awards 2024

The event celebrated achievements and stand-out projects within the single ply roofing community. We took home the accolades for the Health and Safety category and the Best Small Project category at the awards luncheon held at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham on 6th June 2024.

Our project at Enthoven House, in conjunction with Invictus Roofing Ltd was the winner for the Health and Safety Award, recognised for its temporary scaffold enclosure, created during works to protect the mental and physical health of the ex-service and war veteran residents.

Contour SPRA Awards Winner

Together with Contour Roofing (Essex) Ltd we also won the Best Small Project category with our successful project at The Butterfly Centre, featured on television programme DIY SOS. The judges were particularly inspired by the collaboration that took place during construction between all trades involved, which meant the project could be completed in under two days at zero cost to the community.

SPRA Awards Shortlisted

In all, five of our projects had been shortlisted across four categories.

The categories that we were shortlisted for included: “Best New Build”, “Best Small Project”, “Health and Safety Award” and the “Sustainability Award”.

The “Best New Build Award” recognises a project that represents an outstanding example of single ply roofing technology and workmanship.

Our project at Albion Place, completed alongside Invictus Roofing Ltd, had been shortlisted, along with the Temple Park Crescent new build residential development project, which was carried out in partnership with Ashton Building Systems. The Temple Park Crescent project featured not only the installation of the SikaRoof® green roof system, but also the incorporation of a single ply warm roof and a paved warm roof system.

For the “Best Small Project” category, our project at Tettenhall College had been shortlisted, alongside the winning project - The Butterfly Centre. This category showcases projects that represent an outstanding example of how single ply roofing technology and workmanship can be applied on a smaller scale (<100m2).Tettenhall College was a milestone project for Sika, as it was the first installation of its Basalt Grey Sarnafil® AT in the UK, installed by De Rosa Installations Ltd across a 73m2 exterior roof.

The “Sustainability Award” category is awarded to a project that minimises carbon emissions, materials and water consumption during construction, or one that encourages biodiversity. Our Temple Park Crescent project in Edinburgh had also been shortlisted for this award. The new build residential development project showcases our Green Roof System, a warm roof, and a paved warm roof system.

"We are exceptionally proud of the teams involved in these projects, as well as our valued contractors installing our products with precision and care. We always strive to champion and celebrate best practice in our industry, so it was brilliant to be able to come together with the rest of the sector and applaud those who had performed particularly well this year. Congratulations to the entire team." Cheryl Douglas - Head of Marketing, Roofing UK
