This project was part of a three-year, three-phase programme led by the main contractor, The Bakers of Danbury.

Co-op Academy Hillside

The building required significant roof renovations to enhance safety and functionality. The 300m2 roof needed a complete overhaul, as covered drains had caused water pooling, and the decking was fragile.

St George's College

Celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2019, St. George’s Weybridge – a Roman Catholic private day school in Surrey – marked the occasion with the introduction of an exciting new architectural development. Transforming its existing, functionally simple sports hall into an inspiring, beautifully designed facility, the College’s accommodation brief comprised a premiership level hockey pitch and six-court sports hall, as well as a strength and conditioning suite, dance studio and ﬂexible multi-use areas for group activities, meetings, presentations, exhibitions, open days and ‘match teas’. Designed by global architectural practice Scott Brownrigg, the architect’s vision was to create a contemporary and timeless building that would inspire students to achieve their very best.

University of Brighton Single Ply Roof Project

University of Reading Library

A £40 million investment, 13 roof areas, eight different roof levels, and a steady stream of visiting students to keep happy throughout – the University of Reading (UoR) Library’s complete refurbishment was a large and challenging project spanning three years. Originally opened in 1964 and later extended in 1985, the library’s internal and external revamp was designed to increase space, improve facilities for individual study, provide better access and security across the building, and improve energy efficiency.

Salford community project, Working in Wood, is run by Incredible Education CIC, a social enterprise providing nature-based services for local communities through horticulture and forest school activities. The Cleavley Community Forest Garden also has wood kitchen, a poly tunnel, outdoor learning area, an edible garden that supplies fruit and veg and a coffee shop & cafe that serves plant-based and healthy food.

Portland Primary School

Birkenhead, Mersyside

Part of the Co-op Academies Trust since 2018, Portland School in Birkenhead is a primary school for children aged 3-11. Attended by Everton and England footballing legend of the 1920s and 30s, Dixie Dean, the main school building has had many additions over time, resulting in a roof with 24 roof areas at varying levels and with various roof build-ups. The whole of this 1600m2 roof was in need of refurbishment as part of a programme of maintenance and upgrades following the school’s transition to academy status.
