Storage Conditions

The product must be stored properly in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C.
Higher storage temperatures may reduce shelf life of product.
Reference shall also be made to the storage recommendations within the safety data sheet.

Application steps

SUBSTRATE QUALITY

The surfaces must be clean, dry, free of stripping agents and free of oil, grease, silanes, salts, silicone, siloxanes and other chemicals which could cause poor adhesion.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces to be coated should be thoroughly cleaned by conventional means.  Heavy soiling should be removed with detergent and water and then rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
Allow surface to dry for a minimum of 15 minutes at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.  Depending on climate, curing can be faster or slower.

APPLICATION

Shake the can of Sikalastic® Primer PVC prior to application.

Apply a thin but completely covering coat of Sikalastic® Primer PVC with a solvent resistant brush or felt pad.  Sikalastic® Primer PVC shall be applied once only.  Care must be taken to ensure that this single application gives adequate and uniform coverage.

Allow primer to dry sufficiently (see table waiting time/overcoating) before overcoating.  Air and Surface temperatures affect the drying time.

The primer surface shall be tack-free before the Sika Liquid Plastics liquid roofing membrane is applied.  For best results, apply the liquid roofing membrane system within two hours after priming.  Maximum overcoating time is 12 hours.

Reseal container tightly immediatley after use.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with Thinner C immediately after use.
