What is Watertight Concrete?
A concrete structure can become truly watertight by using engineered waterproofing that incorporates the Sika® Watertight Concrete System. This rigid and integral system includes a full range of concrete admixtures for the production of watertight concrete, a complete spectrum of products for watertight joints and crack limitation, as well as design detailing and cost engineering for complex structures.
Watertight concrete describes only the concrete that is impermeable to water and is focused on the quality and performance of the product, which has been modified using admixtures such as superplasticisers, pore blockers, capillary crystalline materials and others to achieve its integral watertightness.
Sika® Watertight Concrete System Components
Sika® WT-100 series is a range of pore blocking admixtures.
Sika® WT-200 series is a range of crystalline pore-blocking and enhancement self-healing admixtures.
Sika® ViscoCrete® can be used for lower water-cement ratio, which reduces the size of the capillary structure.
Sika® Waterbar are used to waterproof expansion (movement) and construction (no-movement) joints.
SikaSwell® profiles and sealants swell in contact with water to seal construction joints (non-movement joints), service entries and penetrations.
SikaSwell® rings and plugs and Sikadur®-31 are used to seal formwork tie bar holes against water ingress.
Sika® Antisol® is a spray-applied curing compound to prevent early moisture loss.
Sikadur-Combiflex®-SG is a high performance joint and crack sealing system.
