Established in 1136, Aberdeen Harbour is Britain’s oldest existing business. The Aberdeen Harbour Expansion Project is a £400 million development of infrastructure to increase the South Harbour’s berthage, offer deeper and stronger quays and significantly increase its lay-down area to handle greater sized vessels (up to 300 metres in length).

Situated in Carlisle, Cumbria, the River Eden railway viaduct recently required an urgent repair solution to the deteriorating riverbed condition, where trains were having to operate at reduced speeds of 20mph over the Victorian and 1940s-built structures.

The Great Western main line runs westwards from London Paddington to Penzance and is a vital link for transport, tourism and freight movements. In February 2014, the collapse of the Dawlish seawall (due to a sizeable storm) severed the whole of the south-west peninsula from the rest of the country for eight weeks, and it took 300 people and more than £30m to put right.

The Marazion to Penzance coastal footpath is situated in one of the most scenic parts of the U.K and is an area used by residents and visitors alike, meaning all-season access is required.

A foul pump chamber at the Boat House, a restaurant located in St Aubin’s Harbour, Jersey, required remedial works. The project involved breaking out the existing base slab of the chamber and casting a new one.

The £1.2 million Mamhead Slipway in Exmouth, a ‘major technical undertaking’ on behalf of East Devon District Council (EDDC), reintroduced maritime access to the River Exe in the hope of increasing visitor numbers to the town. The original structure was closed in 2012 and eventually demolished by contractors Raymond Brown Construction as part of the rebuilding process.

This listed pier in Anstruther harbour was once the centre of the Scottish fishing industry. Picturesque Anstruther harbour is now a popular tourist attraction and is mainly occupied by private pleasure crafts.
