SikaRapid®-4 UK

Hardening accelerator for concrete

SikaRapid®-4 UK is a chloride-free hardening accelerator for mortar and concrete. It accelerates the hardening of the concrete and the development of the early-age strength without negatively influencing final strength, especially in concrete with high levels of cement replacement materals.

Usage

SikaRapid®-4 UK is especially suitable for any application where fast early strength development before 24 hours is required. Typical applications include:
  • Precast concrete
  • Prestressed concrete
  • Making concrete in cold ambient temperatures
  • Speeding up construction schedule
  • Concrete with high levels of cement replacement / supplementary cementitious material (SCM)

Shelf Life

12 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged, unopened, original packaging.

Storage Conditions

Store at temperatures between 5 °C and 30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, frost and contamination.

Technical Information

Concreting guidance

The standard rules of good concreting practice, concerning production and placing, are to be followed. Laboratory trials shall be carried out before concreting on site, especially when using a new mix design or producing new concrete components. Fresh concrete must be cured properly with curing applied as early as possible.

Application Information

Dispensing

SikaRapid®-4 UK is added to the gauging water or added with it into the concrete mixer. SikaRapid®-4 UK may also be added into the readymix truck on site. When added on site the truck mixer shall rotate its drums at maximum speed for at least 1 minute per m³ concrete and a minimum of 5 minutes to achieve a uniform mix.

1.0-5.0% by weight of cement
