Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB)

Micro-Synthetic Fibrillated Fibre

Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB) are fibrillated micro-synthetic fibres for non-structural use in concrete, screed and mortar. Specifically engineered and manufactured in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility for use in concrete applications. Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB) was previously Fibercast-500.

Usage

Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB) fibres act mechanically by supporting the aggregate within the concrete and developing a uniform bleed system. The fibre does not affect the curing process chemically and does not absorb water. Typical applications include:
  • Ready-mixed concrete and screed
  • Precast
  • Tanks and storage
  • Marine products
  • Walls
  • Shotcrete

Technical Information

Concreting guidance

The addition of Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB) at the normal recommended dosage rate should not require any significant mix design changes. The fibre concrete can be mixed, sprayed or placed using conventional equipment.

Dispensing

Sika® Fibercast®-500 (GB) can be added directly to the concrete mixing system after the batching of the other ingredients and mixed for 4 to 5 minutes or 70 revolutions.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.6 - 1.8 kg/m3.  Consult the Sika Technical Department for further advice, trials recommended.
