SikaRapid®-800 ECO

Hardening Accelerator for Concrete, Mortar & Grout

SikaRapid®-800 ECO is a liquid hardening accelerator for concrete and mortar, designed specifically for enhancing the performance of concrete with high levels of supplementary cementitious material (SCM), such as GGBS and PFA. SikaRapid®-800 ECO promotes early and late age strength development without negatively influencing final strengths.

SikaRapid®-800 ECO provides the following advantages though the long-term acceleration and activation of the concrete binder:
  • Increased SCM content without penalties in concrete physical characteristics allowing lower embodied carbon per cubic metre
  • Enhanced strength gain
  • Reduced or eliminated heat or steam curing
  • Faster turnaround of formwork / moulds
SikaRapid®-800 ECO is chloride free and does not contain ingredients which promote corrosion of steel.  It is therefore suitable for use in reinforced concrete.

Usage

SikaRapid®-800 ECO is especially suited for use in concrete incorporating SCM, such as GGBS and PFA.

Shelf Life

12 months shelf life from date of production if stored properly in undamaged, unopened, original sealed packaging.

Storage Conditions

Storage at temperatures between 5 °C and 30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight, frost and contamination.

Technical Information

Specific Advice

At higher dosages, there may be a neutral or negative effect on 24 hour compressive strength, but a stronger subsequent strength gain after 2-3 days.

Effect on Setting

SikaRapid®-800 ECO may bring forward the concrete setting time

Application

Application Information

DISPENSING

SikaRapid®-800 ECO is added to the gauging water or added with it into the concrete mixer.
SikaRapid®-800 ECO may also be added into the ready-mix truck on site. When added on site the truck mixer shall rotate its drums at maximum revolutions for at least 1 minute per m³ concrete and a minimum of 5 minutes to achieve a uniform mix. The concrete must be visually checked for uniform consistence before discharging.
