Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste

Surface retarder for washed concrete look

Solvent-free, paste-like surface retarder for construction joints.

Contains retarding active ingredients that prevent the top layer from normal setting. This ensures that after stripping, this layer can be removed with high pressure water jetting of about 100 bar.

Usage

  • Used to achieve washed concrete structures with wood and steel formwork.
  • Particularly suitable for vertical and horizontal concrete construction joints to achieve optimum adhesion of the new concrete layer.
  • Particularly suitable for the pre-treatment of contact surfaces which will be plastered at a later date (carry out preliminary tests with regard to adhesion of the plaster).

Storage temperature between +5 °C and +40 °C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

Frozen Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste can be reused after slow thawing at room temperature (never over direct fire, never above +40 ° C) and after intensive mixing.

Application steps

APPLICATION

In order to ensure an even coverage, both Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste and the substrate should have a temperature between +15 °C and +35 °C.


Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste is usually applied with a brush. Concreting can be carried out immediately after application.

 

The concrete should be stripped as soon as possible, but at latest after 3 days. After stripping the concrete surface must be cleaned immediately, but at latest after 2 hours.


Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste does not form a dry film after application. Therefore, formwork treated with Sika® Rugasol®-3 W Paste should not be accessed (danger of slipping)!
