As part of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact, enhance customer value and reinforce our social responsibility, we are making a packaging change to some of our products.
What’s changing?
From February 2021, our plastic pails will be manufactured from 100% recycled post-industrial waste (PIW). This will result in an estimated 30% saving in CO2 per unit, according to publicly-available calculation models.
The lid of the pails will continue to be made from virgin material due to flexibility and durability requirements, however this positive step will help ensure we as a business are looking to the future and working in-line with our sustainability strategy.
Will these changes affect our customers?
End users will experience absolutely no difference in the strength or quality of the packaging. The only notable change is a subtle switch of colour from white to grey!
Customers can expect to start seeing our new packaging from March onwards, once existing stock has sold-through.
The new design will feature on some of our most popular products, such as Sika Watertight Concrete Powder, Sika WT-200P and Sika UCS Pak. A full list of products updated with the new packaging is detailed at the bottom of this article.
