SikaFiber®-200

Bio-based fibres for concrete, screeds and mortars

SikaFiber®-200 is a cellulose microfibre for use in concrete, screeds and mortars to minimise the risk of drying and plastic shrinkage cracking. This natural fiber is an alternative to polypropylene microfibres.

SikaFiber®-200 are extremely fine fibres that disperse very easily in the fresh concrete during mixing and create a very dense network, to help distribute stresses in the curing concrete that cause larger cracks due to drying and plastic shrinkage. SikaFiber®-200 can replace traditional wire mesh used to control plastic shrinkage but are not suitable for structural use.

Usage

For most types of non-structural concrete and cementitious mortars to improve resistance to drying and plastic shrinkage cracking:
  • Slabs, floors 
  • Fluid screeds, traditional screeds 
  • External pavement
  • Decorative concrete
  • Mortars

Technical Information

Water Absorption

~2 L per 300 g bag; adjust workability using a suitable Sika plasticiser. 

NOTE: Do not pre-soak the fibres in water before adding to the mix.
