A project for which Sika supplied the flooring has won a prized industry award.
Sika, in conjunction with Zircon Flooring, won ‘Small Commercial Project of the Year’ at the FeRFA resin flooring association best practice awards.
The accolade was given for the companies’ delivery of a complex and time-critical floor installation at Leeds Art University. The smart, super-flat surface was required for a TV studio used to train students in all aspects of broadcasting.
Mike Bushell at Sika, said:

"This is a fantastic achievement. The FeRFA awards are revered throughout the industry. The accolade is testament to the quality of our products and the knowledge and skill of our technical team. This award is also a tribute to the diligence and excellence of Zircon Flooring’s expert installation team."
Winners of this year’s FeRFA awards were announced during a ceremony held at St Johns Hotel in Solihull, Birmingham. Former England rugby star Kyran Bracken hosted the event, which included a presentation of NVQ diplomas and certificates to FeRFA graduates.
FeRFA finished the ceremony by presenting Mark Bushell, Target Market Manager, Flooring a Special Award for his contribution to the Resin Flooring Industry marking his retirement from Sika and the FeRFA Council.
Sika was also shortlisted, along with ACO Building Drainage, for an Innovation Award for its development of a testing rig that determines appropriate flooring for industrial areas.
