FAQs

Can decorative flooring elements (like logos or colour zones) be integrated in stadia floors?

Yes - Sika’s arena/stadia solutions allow incorporation of decorative effects, signage or colour-zoning within the floor finish. For example the DecoDur product range offers coloured quartz, flake or granite-effect finishes while maintaining the technical performance required for high traffic and heavy loads.

How can flooring support hygiene in stadium bathrooms and changing rooms?

In these high-use wet zones, a seamless, non-porous floor covering with slip resistance is crucial. Sika’s systems provide these features, helping inhibit bacteria growth and simplifying cleaning. They guide clients through specification and installation to ensure hygiene and safety in showers, toilets and player change areas.

What flooring considerations are critical for arenas and stadia?

In arenas and stadia high footfall – and frequent use of heavy equipment – demand flooring systems that are extremely durable, slip-resistant and cost-effective to maintain. Sika highlight that flooring must withstand staging, fork-lift traffic and crowd movement, while also helping way-finding through integrated signage or flow-arrows.

Can I use my club colours for my floors?

Yes resin flooring can be tinted to almost any colour. Designs, demarcation and slip resistance requirements can all be met using Sika products, such as Sikafloor® DecoDur ES-26 Flake, Sika Comfortfloor PS-23. Terrazo floors can also be designed to meet clients colour requirements.

What type of floor can i use for a football stadium?

The type of floor you would need will depend on the area, for example external stands which are open to the elements will need to be waterproof, slip resistant, UV stable, aesthetic finish. Whereas internal areas would focus on aesthetics and slip resistance along with cleanability. Long term durability, ease of repair or re-topping also needs to be considered.
