Sika® Primer MB Rapid has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of production, if it is stored properly in undamaged, original, sealed packaging, and if the storage conditions are met.

Sika® Primer MB Rapid shall be stored in dry conditions, protected from direct sunlight and at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.

When used as a primer for levelling products, after applying Sika® Primer MB Rapid, a single-layer application of Sikafloor-02 Primer is required to provide the key between Sika® Primer MB Rapid and the levelling product.

Note: All values are approximate and apply to 20 °C and 65 % r.h. Humidity below 40 % and temperatures below 15 °C can slow down the curing time necessary before further processing is possible.

Note: Curing speed is dependent on temperature, relative humidity, and substrate absorption. High temperature and low r.h. decrease curing time. Cured material becomes transparent.

When used as a primer for levelling products, after applying Sika® Primer MB Rapid, a single-layer application of Sikafloor-02 Primer is required to provide the key between Sika® Primer MB Rapid and the levelling product. 

Note: Consumption is related to the surface roughness. If sanding is planned, a third layer of Sika® Primer MB Rapid is necessary. Please contact Sika technical service for further information.

For the application of Sika® Primer MB Rapid all standard construction guidelines and relevant valid data sheets apply.

• Sika® Primer MB Rapid is suitable for use on concrete, cement and rapid cement screeds, calcium sulphate based screeds, mastic asphalt screeds, old substrates such as ceramic tiles, natural stones and terrazzo, old substrates with old water-resistant adhesive residues, leftovers of water soluble adhesives and levelling compounds, dry screeds, wooden substrates and magnesit screeds.
• The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. Paint, cement laitance and other poorly adhering contaminants must be removed.
• Adhesive residues must be removed so that less than 50 % of the surface area remains.
• Layers of water-soluble adhesives, e.g. sulphite-waste-adhesives, are to be mechanically removed. Remaining adhesive residues should be primed with Sika® Primer MB Rapid.
• Old, loose and weak levelling layers should be removed mechanically.
• Surface treatments or any "friable" areas of the subfloor must be mechanically removed and the subfloor repaired with Siks levelling compounds as required.
• Old water-resistant adhesives are to be mechanically removed as thoroughly as possible.
• Concrete and/or cement screeds must be ground and thoroughly cleaned with an industrial vacuum.
• Old floors, such as ceramic tiles are to be thoroughly cleaned and sanded.
• On fiber reinforced concrete any exposed fibers must be burnt off the surface.
• Rooms in buildings without a basement, are to be sealed against rising dampness in compliance with the standard.
• Preliminary bond strength testing is recommended.

Clean all tools and application equipment immediately after use with Sika® Thinner C. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically.
