Worcester
A new flexible teaching building for medical, health professional and sports science students at the University of Worcester has been completed with the help of Sika Historic KL pointing mortar, used during the installation of the brick cladding system.
The Duke's Building, named for the University's long-serving chancellor, the Duke of Gloucester, is a three-storey building, designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects. It features clinical skills rooms and sport and exercise science laboratories, as well as space for teaching and learning. Sika Historic KL mortar, specified in a stone grey colour, was applied to the vertical and horizontal joints of the mechanically-fixed brick cladding system by installers Next Level Facades. The new Severn Campus building now boasts a striking and modern brick facade that enhances the overall campus environment.
Designed for gun-injection for a quick and accurate application, the Sika range of pointing mortars include solutions for sound brickwork and masonry, and brick tiles in historic building applications. Choose from our wide range of mortar colours for a consistent colour and finish to brick cladding projects.
