SURFACE PREPARATION
- Completely remove existing renders, rake out joints (to approximately 30 mm depth).
- Systematically clean and dry the substrate.
- Treat any rising damp (for example with 232 PARINJECTION*).
- Masonry that is saturated with water must be dried out before being covered.
- Repairs with PARLUMIERE STH must be carried out a minimum of 7 days before applying a top coat finish.
- The application of an approved galvanised (internally only) or stainless steel reinforcement mesh may be necessary depending on the type and condition of the masonry.
NB:
PARLUMIERE STH does not stop all, but it slows down the migration of salts and their appearance on the surface.
A long term solution is only possible after completely removing all causes of rising damp.
MIXING
- Machine mixing time: 5 minutes.
- Cement mixer mixing time: 5 – 7 minutes.
APPLICATION
- Mortar should be applied to both sides of the wall.
- First fill the joints, then when the mortar is dry, apply the base coat to an even depth of 20 mm.
- Smooth and compact with a notched rule. The surface should be left with a roughend surface if receiving a decorative covering or float-smoothed if left as a final finish.
- Height of application: minimum 1 m above signs of damp.
- Drying time before covering PARLUMIERE STH: 7 days minimum.
- PARLUMIERE FIN*, PARLUMIERE MOYEN*, PAREXAL*: can be applied as a decorative layer of 5 mm plus a textured finish for sprayed finishes or a layer of 7 – 8 mm before float-smoothing or after scraping.
- CALCIDECO*: 5 mm depth of covering.
