Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect

Full surface protection for paving, floors, façades, soffits and roofs

Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect is a protective impregnation that is designed to protect ALL types of porous mineral substrates against the penetration of water based liquids and oils, and to prevent or significantly reduce staining of these materials. Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect does not form a film on the surface and therefore it is completely invisible. Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect allows the each-way diffusion of water vapour and as a result the treated structures and surfaces retain their normal hydrothermal and hygric behaviour. Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect also makes it easier to remove any subsequent graffiti that is sprayed on the surfaces (with suitable cleaners).

Usage

Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect can be used to pro­tect paving, floors, façades, soffits and roofs made of all common mineral based building material substrates such as:  
  • Natural stone such as granite, limestone, marble, etc., as well as reconstituted or artificial stone. 
  • Terracotta tiles, clay / cement based, roof tiles. 
  • Concrete, cement render and plaster, etc.

Consumption

Consumption will depend on the type and porosity of substrate:

  • Typically on very porous substrates, from 300 to 600 g/m2 per coat
  • Typically on substrates with low porosity, from 50 to 200 g/m2 per coat

Application steps

APPLICATION

Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect is supplied ‘ready-for-use’, but always thoroughly shake the sealed containers before opening and use.

Do not dilute the material and apply directly onto the substrate until saturation by brush, roller, or low pressure spray. This is normally best done in 2 coats using the 'wet-on-wet' technique. Do NOT over-apply, roll out and disperse any ponding or excess material before allowing to dry.

CURING TREATMENT

Sikagard®-790 All-in-One Protect does not require any curing after application but must be protected against spillages and rain for at least 24 hours.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Application tools must be cleaned immediately after application with water.

CLEANING

Remove any surface spillages /graffiti as soon as possible. The sooner these are removed, the easier it will be.
Domestic spillages and staining can be removed with water and /or household detergent.
To remove graffiti, spray with an appropriate graffiti cleaner. Follow the manufacturer's instructions, allow to react and then remove with the graffiti; normally this is done using water jetting (pressure circa 100 bars). Repeat this sequence as required.

Surfaces should be cleaned and maintained regularly to retain their original aspect.
