Sika, in conjunction with Zircon Flooring Limited, has been shortlisted for a renowned industry accolade following an outstanding refurbishment of a London TV studio.
The project on behalf of international news broadcaster CNN is a finalist in this year’s Contract Flooring Journal/ Contract Flooring Association (CFJ/CFA) Awards. Its shortlisting is in the ‘Flooring in Industrial Spaces’ category. For the refurbishment, Sikafloor supplied the high-quality flooring system – Sikafloor® MultiDur ES-24 ECF – that resulted in the studio being furnished with a super-flat, super-smooth waterproof surface to uphold operations at one of the world’s most-watched news services.

For the CNN studio floor refurbishment, Zircon’s challenge was to deliver a durable, resin-based anti-static floor with a tolerance of +/-1mm over a 3-metre straight edge, a reading which far exceeds the British Standard. Sikafloor’s system was more than capable of ensuring the required outcome was achieved. Despite encountering a number of logistical challenges at the BREEAM site, the floor installation was completed to the client’s one-month deadline. The project provided further evidence of Sika and Zircon’s collaborative ability to deliver quality, safe, durable flooring.
