Sikagard®-5901 Eproseal

Waterproof cementitious coating for tanking, coating brickwork, blockwork and masonry, lining water storage tanks, and providing equivalent concrete cover. 

Sikagard®-5901 Eproseal is a waterproof cementitious coating designed to be brush or spray applied onto masonry and concrete. The special formulation provides excellent adhesion to construction surfaces and is safe to apply on damp substrates. The product is also effective at providing equivalent concrete cover where required.

Application steps

MIXING

Sikagard®-5901 Eproseal is supplied in 25 kg bags. The water content to produce the coating is 7.5 to 8.5 litres per 25 kg of dry material / powder. Pour the required quantity of water into a suitable mixing vessel. Slowly add the powder to the water whilst continuously mixing. Mechanical mixing is recommended using a slow speed high torque drill with a Mortar Stirrer. Mixing should be continued for 3 minutes after all the powder has been added to the mixing water to obtain a 'creamy' consistency. 

APPLICATION

Sikagard®-5901 Eproseal is applied in two coats, at right angles to each other. Brush or spray apply the first coat in a horizontal direction down to the fillet level (if applicable). After 24 hours seal the fillet with a suitable waterproof plugging mortar (if used as a tanking coating), leaving weep holes free.

 

Apply a second coat in a vertical direction covering the fillet with the coating (in tanking applications). This ensures full coverage without weak areas. Remove weep hole taps and seal with a suitable plugging mortar.

CURING TREATMENT

In warm or windy conditions, mist spraying may be used to compensate for moisture loss, otherwise no other curing is necessary. In tanking applications, a through flow of air is required to prevent condensation.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically removed.
