Parex High Build Mortar

1-component, cementitious, high-strength, non-slump, 'stay as placed' packing mortar

Parex High Build Mortar is a one-component, cementitious, non-slump, packing mortar for use in structural support applications where good vibration resistance is required and shuttering is impractical. The mortar can be used as a dry pack or placed without shuttering in gaps 10 to 50mm. Non-slump, 'stay as placed' characteristics prevent plastic settlement, ensuring permanent contact between substrate and supported surfaces.

Yield

Each 25kg bag of Parex High Build Mortar will yield approximately 12.5 litres of mixed material.
Application steps

MIXING

Pour 3.25 litres of clean water into a suitable mixing vessel for each complete bag of Parex High Build Mortar. Slowly add the powder to the water whilst continuously mixing. Mechanical mixing is preferable using a slow speed drill and mortar stirrer. For larger mixes use a forced action mixer, such as those manufactured by Mixal or Cretangle.

APPLICATION

Place the mixed Parex High Build Mortar within 20 minutes from the start of mixing. Use a clean trowel or other suitable hand tool. Ensure that the applied mortar is worked well under the plate or rail and is fully compacted. A smooth edge surface finish may be achieved using a steel trowel moistened with water. Placement in thicknesses from 10mm to 50mm may be undertaken. Do not disturb once placement has been completed until mortar has hardened

CURING TREATMENT

Placed mortar, which is exposed, should be cured in accordance with good concrete practice including water spray and spray applied curing membrane.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
