A presentation on concrete repair, protection, corrosion management and strengthening solutions provided by Sika proved an enlightening success at the company’s head office in Welwyn Garden City.
The programme, attended by 15 surveyors from commercial property consultants, Lambert Smith Hampton, and key members from BT Facilities Services’ (BTFC) programme management team, was designed as an educational summit on Sika products used regularly within the commercial property industry.
A series of talks by representatives from Sika’s highly-experienced sales, technical and product teams gave an insight into the causes of concrete deterioration, along with repair solutions Sika has to offer. Following an introduction by Sika Technical Manager, Mark Shaw, which included a look at the effect of corrosion on concrete structures, Nic Collins, Sika’s Area Sales Manager for London and the South, gave a talk on concrete repair in accordance with European standard BS EN 1504, taking into account the responsibility of the client, contractor and surveyor.
The programme continued with Ronnie Turner, Sika’s National Infrastructure Refurbishment Manager, providing a presentation on marketplace Sika repair solutions. It also highlighted how Sika’s Total Corrosion Management can prolong the life of a building. Supporting client and surveyor through spec writing, was the topic of a talk given by Bob Orishaguna, Sika’s National Buildings Refurbishment Manager, which included a look at additional technical advice offered by Sika, such as onsite assistance, supported guarantees and correct product selection.
