Sika has appointed a new Area Technical Manager to oversee its Refurbishment Operation focusing on concrete repair and structural strengthening solutions.
Steve Allen will be responsible for working with engineers and surveyors on a range of infrastructure projects which will include finding solutions for the management of corrosion to repair structures including bridges, docks and ports, power stations and water treatment facilities.
Steve, whose previous role was within Sika’s commercial refurbishment division focused on concrete repair solutions of building structures from social housing through to all urban structures said:
"This move presents a new challenge in my Sika career. It is position that requires me to address the technical needs of the client, and create bespoke specifications for projects in many different applications. I’m really looking forward to it. "
Away from the workplace, Steve’s hobbies include taking his two dogs for long walks.
He also enjoys playing golf and football, whilst the highlight of a busy year will undoubtedly be his wedding day in July.
In terms of his new role, Steve said he is looking forward to building and re-establishing relationships with contractors and promoting Sika products within its cathodic protection range.
Steve, who took-up his new role in February, added:
