The scheme was set up to offer a proven and trusted supplier resource for leading travel bodies such as Network Rail and Transport for London (TfL). RISQS, which is run by the rail industry and overseen by the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), has more than 90 buyers and 4,000 suppliers. The quality and expertise of its membership provides the rail industry with supplier assurance ‘fit for the future’.

"We’re proud of our RISQS membership. It’s testimony to the quality of Sika’s products and reputation that we are among the scheme’s trusted suppliers. The rail industry and its infrastructure is vital to the country’s social and economic wellbeing. Therefore its upkeep is of the upmost priority, hence the need for initiatives such as RISQS; a platform that provides the rail industry with the peace of mind that the services and products it offers are of the highest order in terms of safety and cost-effectivity." Sika is a renowned innovator of concrete repair and management solutions for infrastructural projects from railway stations to bridges; tunnels to car parks. In terms of rail refurbishment, its waterproofing products have been used to superb effect for high-profile resurfacing programmes at Euston and London Bridge stations. The revamped terminals not only increased passenger safety, they bolstered service capacity to speed-up journey times into the capital for millions of commuters each year.

"We hope our successful relationship with RISQS will continue long into the future. Our products and industry knowledge have been extremely beneficial to the scheme in facilitating rail refurbishment projects that deliver on quality, cost and long-term performance."
