SikaShield® Hot Melt 50/70

HOT MELT STRUCTURAL WATERPROOFING 

SikaShield® Hot Melt 50/70 is a specially formulated combination of polymer-modified bitumen, synthetic rubbers, lightweight fillers and other additives, which are hot-applied with carefully selected reinforcement and protection layers to give a total waterproofing performance as part of the SikaShield® Hot Melt Structural Waterproofing system.

  • Suitable for completely flat (zero falls) decks
  • BBA verified service life equivalent to the structure (BBA 19/5682)
  • Nominal system thickness of 7mm
  • Once applied forms a continuous, seamless layer

Usage

SikaShield® Hot Melt 50/70 waterproofing element for inverted roofs. Uses include ballasted roofs, podium decks, balconies and terraces.

EQUIPMENT

SikaShield® Hot Melt 50/70 is heated in a mechanically agitated, air or oil jacketed thermostatically controlled hot melt cooker.


The nominal temperature range for SikaShield® Hot Melt 50/70 is 165°C to 185°C. The temperature of the hot melt must not exceed 215°C.
