Spray Applied Primer for use with Sika Self Adhered AVCL, Carrier & Waterproofing Membranes

Usage

Primer 610 is a sprayable primer designed to improve the adhesion of Air & Vapour Control layers and also self-adhering membranes, onto various roof decks.

Shelf Life

12 months from date of production if stored properly in original, unopened and undamaged sealed container.  Expiry date on container.  The adhesive will have a limited life once the container is opened.

Storage Conditions

Store in dry conditions at temperatures between +5C° to +30°C

    Consumption

    Consumption

    Consumption depends on the roughness and absorbency of the substrate and ranges from 75g/m² - 125g/m² on closed substrates to 200g/m² on very absorbent substrates.  One single canister can cover from 150m² to 200m² depending on application and substrate.
    Application steps

    SUBSTRATE QUALITY

    The substrate must offer sufficient cohesive and structural strength.

    SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

    The substrate must be resistant to solvent, firm, clean, dry, free of chemicals oils and grease.  Metal must be cleaned before the primer is applied.

     

    CLEANING OF TOOLS

    • Tools and equipment must be cleaned with Sika Spray Cleaner immediately after use.
    • Purging the primer through the hose & application gun (approximately 250ml) may be necessary if it has stood for a long period.
    • Alternatively flush the hose and application gun with the adaptor valve and Flushing Spray.
