SIKA SOLUTION

To meet the unique demands of the building’s roof, Sika’s Sarnafil® G410-15 EL, a fully adhered PVC membrane was selected. This singly-ply solution was chosen for several key reasons, including its proven performance, ease of installation and enhanced safety credentials due to its hot air welding installation method.. It is also highly resistant to permanent UV radiation, and its glass fleece inlay provides high dimensional stability and wind uplift resistance. The system comes with a 15-year guarantee, offering clients reassured longevity and reliability.

The specification of Sika’s Sarnafil® G410-15 EL was also driven by its versatility, eliminating the need for multiple systems to accommodate the building’s diverse roof designs. The single-ply membrane was successfully applied across various conditions, including beneath a green roof, exposed areas, and ballasted installations.

Protech Roofing was contracted to install the Sika’s Sarnafil® G410-15 EL roofing system. Throughout the project, , Sika’s Site Support Engineer, played a critical role in ensuring the system was installed to the highest standards. Conducting weekly site inspections, overseeing each layer of the multi-layer system to confirm it was correctly and safely installed before proceeding to the next phase.

This unique project in York exemplifies how Sika® Sarnafil® roofing systems can be adapted to meet a wide range of roofing challenges. Its versatility, ease of installation, and long-lasting performance made it the ideal solution for this modern accommodation, contributing to both the building’s functionality and aesthetic appeal.
