Polymer modified natural sodium bentonite granules

Sika® BentoShield® Granules are polymer modified natural sodium bentonite granules, these granules when wetted form a dense waterproof paste.

  • Immediate activation on contact with water to form a waterproof paste
  • Easily moulded waterproofing paste for irregular detailing
  • Can be applied as un-activated granules in confinement
  • Contains no hazardous ingredients
  • Contains no solvents
  • Sika BentoShield® MAX Granules have no specific Occupational Exposure Limit.

Usage

Sika® BentoShield® Granules used to:
  • Seal Sika BentoShield® MAX LM membrane around slab penetrations
  • Seal Sika BentoShield® MAX LM membrane around pile heads
  • Create secondary fillets at wall / slab junctions
  • Correct minor cracks in the substrate prior to the membrane application
  • Seal the horizontal laps of membrane applications

100% natural mineral, Montmorillonite

Shelf Life

24 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged unopened, original sealed packaging.

Storage Conditions

Store in dry conditions at temperatures between +5°C and +25°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.
System information

System Structure

Sika® BentoShield® Granules are activated by wetting the dry granules and mixing until a paste is formed.

Compatibility

  • Sika® BentoShield® Granules should always be activated using potable water.
  • Sika® BentoShield® Granules may be combined with other Sika products.
  • Important: Always conduct trials before combining products in specific mixes and contact the Sika Technical Service Department for information and advice about any specific combinations.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES ON APPLICATION / LIMITATIONS
 

All dirt, contaminates and debris must be removed from the area of application. Product must not be applied into standing water.

Excessive water addition or overdosing may cause bleeding or segregation.

Frost: If frozen and / or if precipitation has occurred, Sika BentoShield® MAX Granules may be used after thawing slowly at room temperature followed by intensive remixing.
 

CLEANING OF TOOLS
 

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
