Sikafloor® ProSeal-12
Curing and sealing compound for concrete floors
Sikafloor® ProSeal-12 is a solvent-based, clear acrylic resin polymer solution used to cure, harden and seal fresh or hardened concrete.
- Improves the hardening of the concrete.
- Improved abrasion resistance, dust prevention.
- Excellent moisture retention.
- It reduces substrate absorption and increases the resistance of oils.
- Easy application by spray or roller.
- Quick drying.
- Cost-effective.
- Available in different sized packaging for convenience.
Usage
Sikafloor® ProSeal-12 creates durable, wear-resistant and non-dusting surface to existing matured or fresh laid concrete floors or constructions.- Suitable for protection against ingress (Principle 1, method 1.2 of EN 1504-9).
- Suitable for physical resistance (Principle 5, method 5.2 of EN 1504-9).

Application
Ambient Air Temperature
Sikafloor® ProSeal-12 can be applied at a broad range of temperatures (-10°C to +35°C). Significant prolongation / reduction of the drying time is expected when applied at temperature limits.
Relative Air Humidity
80 % relative humidity maximum
Dew Point
Beware of condensation! The substrate and uncured floor must be at least +3°C above dew point to reduce the risk of condensation or blooming on the floor finish.
Waiting Time / Overcoating
The surface is touch dry after 1 to 2 hours at +20°C. Completely dry after 24 hours at +20°C.
Consumption
0.10 to 0.25 l/m2/coat (4.0 to 10.0 m2/l)
Note: This figure is theoretical and does not include any additional material required due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level and wastage, etc.
MIXING
Sikafloor® ProSeal-12 is supplied ready for use. Stir thoroughly before use.
APPLICATION
Fresh Concrete
For fresh concrete, apply immediately after finishing techniques have been completed. Apply in a continuous even film by low-pressure spray unit. The suitability of spraying equipment must be confirmed by trials. Application is also possible by brush or roller. The application on freshly laid concrete seals the surface and protects it from rapid water loss.
Hardened / Old Concrete
On hardened concrete, Sikafloor® ProSeal-12 provides surface hardening and dusting reduction. One coat is usually sufficient for treating concrete.
Uneven application to fresh concrete can lead to discolouration of the surface during the concrete maturing process. The discolouration of concrete caused by uneven application is temporary.
All dust, loose and friable material must be removed entirely from all surfaces before product application, preferably by brush and / or vacuum. If in doubt, apply a test area first.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
Clean all tools and application equipment with Sika®Thinner C immediately after use. Hardened / cured material can only be removed mechanically.
